‘The Marigold Foundation – BOV in the Community’ supports Autism Awareness
Following the ‘Light it up Blue’ ceremony and fundraising event in aid of Autism during the month of April, Ms Michelle Muscat, Chairperson of ‘The Marigold Foundation – BOV in the Community’ presented a donation to the Autism Parents Association. The Autism Parents Association (APA) is a non govermental association, designed to help and facilitate the process to families with children affected by Autism. On April 2nd , The Marigold Foundation in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister, joined for the first time ever the United Nations s project ‘ Light it up Blue’ and lit up Auberge de Castille in blue hue.
This project links countries across the world to raise awareness of Autism by lighting up a landmark building in the blue colour that symbolizes Autism.
Presenting the donation to members of the APA, Ms Muscat said ‘We are proud to support the Autism Parents Association, and stress on the importance to create more awareness about this condition, support the parents and their young ones, and encourage the community to understand that these children need understanding, compassion and support.
Mrs. Muscat urged all those parents with children with autism to come and join this Association since it provides friendship in times of need, advice and a community that understands their daily challenges.
The aim of ‘The Marigold Foundation, BOV in the Community is to positively empower existing NGOs and associations and to work with them to raise standards, support initiatives and strengthen their voices.
