An Allcare Insurance team ran the Land Rover Malta Marathon in aid of Mental Health Awareness

Director Corporate Service at Allcare Insurance Ltd Simon Schembri explained that although all proceeds from the marathon entries went to Inspire, Allcare were keen to raise awareness and some extra funds for a cause that is often neglected

The company’s Chief Financial Officer David Mallia ran the full marathon, whilst Group Head, Ramon Mizzi was joined by Chairman of Mental Health Services Anton Grech for the half marathon. Each team member carried out fund raising events and Allcare Insurance Limited then matched the amount raised hence doubling  the total sum collected.

“More than the money, which is obviously much appreciated, I am happy that I was able to run with the Allcare team and together help raise awareness about Mental Health. Besides providing support to families striving to cope with a family member with mental ill health, the most important thing is to reduce the stigma surrounding these types of illness,” Dr Grech said.

The Malta Marathon received over 3000 entries this year, breaking last year’s record of 2500 participants.
