The local Chapter of ISACA is organising an educational half day conference on COBIT 5, the new business framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT at the San Gorg Corinthia on February 27.

The half-day conference will be addressed by Managing Director of IT in Balance Dirk Steuperaert and Head of Information and Technology Risk for Betfair Steven Babb,.  Both speakers have extensive experience in using COBIT 5 to address business issues in organisations from various industries and of different sizes.  The speakers’ interventions will therefore take a practical perspective and should appeal to all practitioners.

COBIT 5 helps enterprises create optimal value from IT by maintaining the balance between realising benefits, optimising risk levels and resource use. The framework addresses both business and IT functional areas across an enterprise and considers the IT-related interests of internal and external stakeholders.

COBIT 5 provides globally accepted principles, practices, analytical tools and models to help increase the trust in, and value from, information systems. It builds and expands on COBIT 4.1 by integrating other major frameworks, standards and resources, including ISACA’s Val IT and Risk IT, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) and related standards from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The half-day conference will provide an overview of the framework, the enabling processes guide, and other guides and tools provided by ISACA.
