President visits Newark School
The President of the Republic George Abela, recently visited Newark School in Sliema where he was greeted by students many of who are foreigners.
A number of foreign interns as well as teachers spoke to the President while 17 children from Poland, Georgia, Italy, Greece, China, Spain, Libya, France, Sweden, UK and Romania read a welcome speech to the President.
Dr. Abela was greeted by the school choir performing numerous songs while a poem specifically written for the occasion by Frances Borg Saydon was also read. The President was told about the school Dinja Wahda project, while school principal presented the school’s ideas in the field of environmental studies.
The President signed the school guest book and presented the school with several books whilst emphasizing the importance of art including music.
