SR Technics has established its senior management team, comprising of experienced Malaysian and Swiss professionals, and has recruited 17 Technicians and four Certifying Technicians of Malaysian nationality for its new component repair facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is due to open at the end of 2013.
“I’m confident our handpicked senior management team draws together the right mix of existing talent from SR Technics and local Malaysian professionals to offer strong leadership to our expanding team and ensure the delivery of the same high quality and operational excellence standards,” commented SR Technics Senior Vice President Component Maintenance Christof Spaeth.
Heading the team is General Manager Heinz Freimann, who previously led the Component Maintenance division at SR Technics’ Zurich headquarters and has spent over 15 years in the aviation industry. During his time at the company, he has worked in the areas of aircraft services, technical documentation, customer support and business development. Christian Meyer as Head of Finance & Shared Services and Julien Robineau as Head of Supply Chain will also join the team.
As Head of Maintenance Operations, Joel Lim will be responsible for managing day-to-day workmanship performance and quality; driving continuous improvement and optimization of processes and procedures; and also ensuring that the right personnel and skill sets are in place to meet demand. Sivadass Krishnan was appointed in March 2013 as Human Resources Manager while Jimmy Khaw Teik Lim from Hamilton Sundstrand, joins the team as a Quality & Safety Manager Completing
The technicians officially joined the Malaysia team during May 2013 and start their five-month training program. This will be followed by three months’ on-the-job-training in Zurich.
“I’m very excited to be working with such a strong and professional team, and one that I know can really uphold SR Technics’ operational values of quality, safety, reliability, and on-time delivery. Through a combination of intensive training and knowledge transfer from the management team and secondees from Switzerland, I believe we can really make our mark as a key player in the component maintenance arena in Asia,” commented General Manager Malaysia Heinz Freimann.
