Carnival starts at Nadur
The Nadur organized carnival was held today with various dance groups wearing colourful costumes and float competitions parading at St Peter and St Paul square. Hundreds of people attended for the activity which started just after noon and continued throughout the afternoon.
Nadur Local Council said that some detest carnival while others love it but that is the Nadur Carnival - a unique experience lasting a few days, when the silliness, the senseless and the idiotic takes over.
The council said that the event attracts thousands of Maltese, Gozitans and foreigners as the experience combines the tradition of Carnival with the latest news events, making the Carnival famous.
The spontaneous carnival which is a favourite among Maltese and Gozitans who dress up for the occasion with colourful, weird, and sometimes outrageous costumes, will be held at Nadur between February 8 and 12, 2013, starting at 20:00h every evening.
