€516,775 was collected in the PN telethon on Net TV last night, which saw PN Leader Lawrence Gonzi attend the programme at 19:30h.

The Prime Minister received donations collected by the party candidates, including from his Deputy Leader Simon Busuttil.

Malta received the EU funds, but the country's future is not guaranteed, PN Leader Lawrence Gonzi announced, addressing the programme. The Prime Minister was speaking of funds received from the EU a few days ago. “We fought to the last minute,” he said, adding that once the funds were guaranteed, the Maltese delegates instantly put aside a set amount for Gozo. Speaking on the Labour Party, he said that the PL will waste half of these funds within the first year.

The PN Leader described the support the PN has received from the people as 'empowering', adding that the candidates really appreciate it.

The PN programme addressed the creation of jobs, whilst the PL’s Manifesto does not promise the 20,000 jobs needed, Dr Gonzi explained. Concluding, he urged people to keep donating, adding that he does not know where the PL is getting its money from.

Dr Busuttil expressed his view that with the PN “you know where you stand”. He mentioned that the PN is a party of values and thanked the Prime Minister for his work in Brussels the day before.
