PN leader Lawrence Gonzi said that a new government would have to create 25,000 jobs.

He was addressing a political activity in Balzan, saying that with another 20,000 students graduating in the coming legislature, PL's claims of 3,000 more women entering the worplace and 2,000 more pensioners who choose to keep working, more jobs would be needed. He explained that the reason why the PL is saying that the PN did not create 20,000 jobs is because they wouldn’t know where to begin and asked; "if they can't believe that, how will they create jobs for all of these people?"

He spoke about achieving its goals since the 2008 election, arguing that their old slogan “Together everything is possible” was proved to be right.

Deputy leader Simon Busuttil addressed the crowd and said that the most important changes which have taken place in Malta, were made by the Nationalist Party. He concluded that Labour’s slogan ‘Malta taghna lkoll’, represents an ideal which has already been accomplished by the PN.
