93% vote in general election

The Electoral Commission has just released the Voter turnout percentages for the 2013 elections.

In the General Elections, approximately 93% of voters turned up to cast their ballot. The Districts with the lowest turnout were the 10th and 12th with 90% and the highest turnout was recorded in the 2nd and 4th with 95%

Local Councils

With regards to Local Councils, around 82% of voters cast their ballot. The lowest percentage was seen in Sliema with 52% voting, whilst the highest was recorded in Gudja and Imtarfa, both with 94%.
