BirdLife Malta has revealed a provocative campaign called 'Your Voice Counts' asking the public to oppose concessions given to the hunting lobby prior to elections by political parties.

BirdLife president Joseph Mangion explained that; “2,000 legally protected birds were recovered after being found dead and buried under rocks between 2009 and 2010. Both political parties have in the past given concessions to hunters, favouring them."

The campaign tries to instigate the population to speak out against the illegal hunting and the illegal occupation of our countryside.

The activists argued that too many concessions have been given to hunters turning Malta into a 'hunter's paradise' and that, now more than ever with the election looming, people can be heard on this issue.
