Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, while speaking in Sta Lucija, reiterated that the creation of jobs and unemployment are the most important issues in this general election. 

He said that the PN is the party which secure the creation of jobs where he added that the Labour had a wish list but there were no real records since when the latter was in government they caused economic recession and record unemployment.

Gonzi stated that Malta still faces economic challenges which other EU countries are facing.

He stated that during the present legislature the government managed to save 5000 jobs where he pointed out that Muscat admitted on Tuesday that the government's decision to stop subsidising the dockyard was wrong.
