Gonzi: Proposals possible with EU budget obtained

In an interview, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi said that had managed to obtain what Malta deserves in the EU budget yesterday.

He said that the sum given to Malta goes with the theme of the PN’s electoral campaign which is ‘Futur fis-Sod’. He added that Malta got these funds to be able to fulfill the proposals.

With regards to the proposals of the Labour Party, Gonzi pointed out that with Labour “everything collapses when it comes to taking a decision.”

He said that although some Labour politicians were seen with “blue ties” their colour still still remains red, and they are like a “watermelon” which is still red inside.

Gonzi also made reference to the PN marathon which is taking place today where he said that the public needs to help out." On the contrary, he said that the PL “has a bucketful of money.”

The Prime Minister concluded by saying that Malta is in a solid position because of what the PN has done in the past, and even though there are still obstacles, “together we can work to overcome them.”

I want to draw the attention of the PM that the real calour of the PN is BLACK and not blue. All the PM has to do is just take a look at the PN flag in which Black dominates completely. If since Malta joined the EU it received millions and millions of euros. Than why GonziPN increased the National Debt by 40 per cent to the record amount of €5.9Billions millions.

From the latest EU agreement Malta obtained €1,128 million. As other countries Malta has to contributes each year a sum of money which amountes to millions of euros to the EU budget. This yearly contribution is never mentioned by the PN as it is not part of the PN propaganda. Malta's contribution after the EU agreement amounts to €448 million. Therefore Malta's net amount is that of €680 millions. At the moment each year the Government of GonziPN is paying about €200 million in bank's interests regarding the 5.9 billion millions of National Debt. Therefore durtin the 7 year period of the EU Agreement. The Government would have paid €1,400 millions of interests. Therefore in practise the millions of euros obtained from the EU Agreement are already gone in thin air. This financial situation is only the fault of the various PN Governments.
