Update: Muscat knew about drugs in 2009
Hal Safi’s Labour Party club is purportedly the scene of the alleged drug case which is mentioned by Labour’s deputy leader responsible for party affairs, Toni Abela, in a recording released on social media last week, di-ve.com is informed.
di-ve.com is also informed that at the time of the incident mentioned in Dr Abela’s recording, the President of the Hal Safi Labour Party Club was Johann Mula. Mr Mula could possibly be the person that Dr Abela purportedly refers to in the tape as having discovered the alleged abuse in the club’s kitchen and who threw away the evidence in the rubbish.
The Police Anti-Drug Squad has so far been unable to investigate reports of alleged drug use and trafficking in a political club as the location of the club was so far unknown.
It is alleged that after two persons were found cutting cocaine in the kitchen of the Labour club at Hal Safi, the barman had his contract terminated as he was the person responsible for the club.
The disgruntled barman, who sources said has become an avid Nationalist, when interviewed on television claimed that PL Deputy leader Toni Abela gave him a DVD about Dom Mintoff to shut him up.
Muscat knew about drugs in 2009
Letters presented by the PN have revealed that PL Leader Joseph Muscat did indeed know about the drugs in the PL club in 2009.
A letter written by the barman to PL Leader Joseph Muscat dated August 7 2009, presented by PN Secretary General Paul Borg Olivier, read that the barman had seen the President of the club in question follow two youths into the kitchen and caught them with a white block of powder.. He later received a letter back confirming from Joseph Muscat’s personal assistant, confirming that Joseph Muscat had indeed received and read his letter.
A letter dated February 20, 2012, the barman wrote another letter asking why the same club President was being allowed to run for the Local Council. The letter also read that when contacted to have a face-to-face meeting, all Joseph Muscat did was take a photo with the barman to show that I had done nothing wrong. The PN Secretary General explained that at this point the barman had already been let go.
PN Deputy Leader Simon Busuttil said that Joseph Muscat now must take responsibility of this entire situation. “Today we have proof that the PL is building its politics on hypocrisy and this situation reflects Dr Muscat’s true character”. He called Joseph Muscat a liar and morally unjust, claiming that the PL is morally corrupt.
