In a rally in Valletta, AD Chairperson Michael Briguglio said that with 2,000 votes in a district, the AD will be elected.

"In parliament, we will also ensure the Europeanisation of Governance. Whether in coalition or in opposition, we will act as bridge between other parties, we will participate in parliamentary committees, and we will put forward sensible proposals,” Dr Briguglio said.

AD Secretary General Ralph Cassar said that people should use their mind and not fall for the lies being spread by PL and PN candidates. He urged that it is in the interest of people to know about cross-voting, where they can vote for members from different parties. He added that voting AD is the strongest message one can give.

Ralph Cassar concluded that it is a shame that unlike in modern democracies, the Electoral Commission, dominated by PL and PN does not conduct voter education campaigns and fails to explain our voting system to the public. He said that he has informed the OSCE election monitoring mission of the misinformation campaign by PL and PN candidates.

AD spokesperson Arnold Cassola, said that in the last week of the campaign, Dr Gonzi and Dr Muscat were making some astonishing declarations. Dr Muscat declared that he disagreed with holding a referendum on spring hunting whilst later Dr Gonzi responded that his party too did not want to abolish hunting and trapping in a referendum on spring hunting. As for the dislodgement of the Armier squatters, Dr Gonzi said that he could not agree because of pseudo compensation issues, whilst Dr Muscat also agreed he would leave the squatters there and reach an agreement with them. Dr Muscat has conceded that it was the right decision to become members of the European Union, whilst, when asked whether it was the right decision to introduce divorce, Dr Gonzi answered 'yes', thus confirming that Alternattiva Demokratika was right the whole way through, he stated.
