Leftist Governments cause economic problems - Simon Busuttil
European countries which voted for a leftist Government resulted in an economic-dead-end, PN Deputy Leader Simon Busuttil has said.
Dr Busuttil mentioned Spain, Portugal and Cyprus as prime examples, adding that their economic growth suffered and unemployment figures had risen. Dr Busuttil stated that the PN had reduced 25 taxes over the past five years and was committed to reduce even more. He reiterated the PN’s pledge to reduce income tax.
The PN Deputy Leader mentioned that property tax would be lowered, with rental properties only paying 15% in tax, rather than the current 35%. He spoke about people with disability and the elderly and incentivising them to join the workforce. He explained that bills would have risen if the Government hadn’t given the €25 million annual Government subsidy to Enemalta.
