Local Council election round-up

The Local Council election ballots cast last Friday will be counted this weekend, at the Naxxar counting hall.

An estimated total of 82% of eligible voters cast their ballot in the elections of 33 local councils, with Sliema seeing the lowest vote count standing at 57%. The highest vote count stood at 94% in Imtarfa. The precise number of voters as well as the results will be given following the counting of the votes which starts tomorrow.

Roughly 18,300 voting documents remained uncollected, including 14,000 documents of European non-Maltese people, meaning that 4,000 Maltese did not collected their local council voting document.
