Manifesto by the People - Joseph Muscat
The PL Manifesto was based on proposals by a number of NGO’s and Unions as well as regular people, making it a “Manifesto by the people”, PL Leader Joseph Muscat said this morning whilst meeting with various representatives of Civil Society.
Dr Muscat explained that the PL Manifesto is based on 20 priorities. He emphasised that under the PL, the deficit would be decreased to 0.5% by 2017 adding that Louis Grech will be appointed to overlook the implimentation of the Manifesto.
Dr Muscat said that the Manifesto is based on the assumptions of the International Monitery Fund and the European Commission, adding that these institutions indicate that the PN’s plan will either need the introduction of new taxes, result in the country going bankrupt or see the PN unable to keep their promises.
The meeting saw several other proposals discussed relating to health, education, pensions and work.
