Minister interfered in police business - Joseph Muscat
A Minister had called a police officer to release someone from custody, PL Leader Joseph Muscat argued this morning.
Dr Muscat was visiting the Bidnija shooting range, where he spoke about the recordings in which PL Deputy Leader Toni Abela is heard saying that he asked a police officer not to investigate a case. He emphasised that an unnamed Minister had requested that someone not be sent to jail.
The Labour Leader spoke of the importance of sport in Malta, adding that Judge Farrugia Sacco should leave his post as head of the Malta Olympic Committee until his case is resolved.
Dr Muscat mentioned the national pool upgrade, stating that the PL will complete the project which has been left in a dilapidated state. He also spoke of the development of a motor sports track and the construction of an international shooting range.
