Labour leader Joseph Muscat said that “the forecast of the European Commission which was published yesterday, show that the PN’s projections were wrong and therefore they can’t be done.”

He stated this while addressing a national conference organised by the IDEAT Foundations with the central theme being “For a New Progressive Europe”.

He added that while Gonzi said that the economical growth for last year was of 1.2%, the European Commission said that was that of 1%.

“This year’s growth according to the PN will be that of 2.3%, while the European Commission said that this will be of 1.5%. PN estimated that next year's growth will be that of 2.4% while the European Commission said that it will be of 2%"”

Muscat pointed out that this shows that the Labour Party is correct.
