Muscat will not guarantee Gozo funds - Lawrence Gonzi
Joseph Muscat will not guarantee that 10% of the EU funds Malta received from the EU talks earlier this month will go to Gozo, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi has stated.
Dr Gonzi was addressing a political activity in Ghajnsielem, where he spoke about the European Commission's Winter economic forecast, reiterating that Malta placed second out of 17 countries. Dr Gonzi also pledged that 23% of EU rural development funds will be directed towards Gozo.
Minister for Gozo Giovanna Debono emphasised that a 6% rise in employment has been seen over the past legislature in Gozo. She mentioned a number of projects going on around the Isand, including the Mgarr terminal.
Minister for Justice, Dialogue and the Family Chris Said was also present. He spoke about the PN Government's records relating to job creation.
