OPM: PL meddling in police investigation
The PL's allegations in the oil procurement case are meddling with the official investigation, the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) stated.
The PL tries to interfere with investigations through declerations or attempts to influence police in order for steps not to be taken, a statement from the OPM read. There will be no compromise when it comes to irregularites or acts of corruption, the OPM argued, adding that this was the reason for the Cabinet granting the pardon.
Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi has always passed on information regarding possible corruption to the police, the statement continued, adding that the Government allows its institutions to investigate every allegation in order to catch the people responsible.
