PL’s 86 candidates were officially presented this morning by Labour Leader Joseph Muscat at the Bay Arena, St Julians.

Dr Muscat explained that 48% of the PL candidates are new and are contesting their first General Election. He added that 17% of the total candidates are female. He explained how the  screening process candidates vetted the candidates, adding that each was questioned about their past, the party’s core principles and whether they had any criminal record.

When asked whether the PL would publish it’s ‘costings’, the PL Leader replied that this would not be a simple exercise and added that ex-Deputy Leader Anglu Farrugia still plays a role within the Labour Party.
