The project planned for Dock No 1 in Bormla will be completed in the first months of a new Labour government, PL leader Joseph Muscat said this morning.

The project, also known as, Progett Bacir Numru 1, was to be ready by February last year with an expenditure of €3.8 million however this di not happen and the people living in the surrounding areas had to face the dire consequences, Joseph Muscat held, explaining how a woman lost her life, a number of people were injured and the business in the area suffred huge loses.

Dr Muscat reminded the electorate how Minister Austin Gatt had held that if works go to plan the project would be ready by June of this year, whilst yesterday the Prime Minister pledged that it would be done by end of March. The PL leader queried if this was just another campaign promise.

“Since 1995 PN governments have been drawing plans for this project, but the residents are wise enough to go to the voting table with a clear decision in mind,” Joseph Muscat concluded.
