PL: Muscat did not appoint Joe Cordina
Ex-Financial Administrator of the PL Joe Cordina was chosen by the PL Executive Committee and not by Joseph Muscat, the PL have argued.
The accusations against Joseph Muscat were unfounded and do not make sense, the PL stated, adding that Joe Cordina was elected to the post of Financial Administrator in 2008 and the statute to remove the election process required for official positions came afterwards.
Dr Muscat never occupied a business position with Joe Cordina, the PL said, adding that they never shared an office either. In the past, Joseph Muscat was employed by Crystal Finance Investments Limited, whose chairman is Alfred Mifsud, adding that part of Dr Muscat;s job was to meet with clients who the firm wanted to invest in, a PL statement read. These meetings also occurred in Gozo with a number of operators, one of whom was Joe Cordina, the statement read, continuing that Dr Muscat also held meetings with the Malta Financial Services Authority.
The PN have upheld a continuously negative campaign, the PL have alleged.
Throughout the week the PL candidates have been talking about their policy roadmap, however all the PN has done is try to smear PL candidates, the PL statement revealed. Today is a valid example, where the PN attacked several PL candidates as well as the Labour Leader Joseph Muscat, the PL continued.
There are 13 days left In the campaign and the PL have reiterated their pledge to remain positive.
