The ‘Right to Buy’ scheme which allowed residents to become owners of their home was removed by the Nationalist Party, the PL argued.

After appeals by the community, the PN re-opened the scheme for certain housing estate the PL continued, however families who had been saving up for years to buy their house were suddenly disheartened.

A new Government will allow people who rent from the Government for prolonged periods of time, have the opportunity to buy their homes, the PL concluded.
