The third mass meeting organised by PN in the electoral campaign running up to the March 9 ballots took place this afternoon in Vjal il-Ħelsien, Zebbug where the crowd was addressed by PN deputy leader Simon Busuttil and PN Leader Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi.

Simon Busuttil was the first to address the crowd as Maltese, European and Nationalists. He spoke about the choice that people have to make regarding in whom people are going to trust for their future, their careers, their education and their health.

Dr Busuttil assured that each vote counts and that it is the responsibility of each and every person to vote and make the decision that will affect all in the next five years. He reminded the crowd of the funds lately obtained by PN from the EU and how if it was left to PL all of this would not have been possible.

PN Simon Busuttil claimed that all that has been obtained by PN is thanks to the hard work and effort that has been undertaken by PN Leader Lawrence Gonzi who is respected in the EU. He spoke to the people and pleaded with them to think about their choice and to not throw away all that has been obtained so far. The change that has to be made has to be the right change that will continue to progress along the path of success that PN is moving along.

Education has been lately much talked about and discussed, ever more so by the PN said Dr Busuttil. The investments and the plans for the future in this sector have been much discussed this week with topics such as the Art Academy, the stipends scheme and more schools that will be opened being mostly talked about.

PN is proud with the stipends scheme it is proposing since PN was the party that always supported the stipends for students. It is up to students to choose the government for this country on March 9, 2013 and the future of the country can only be guaranteed by the PN, concluded Dr Busuttil.

PN Leader Lawrence Gonzi was next to address the crowd, following the National Maltese anthem which was played. He thanked the crowd for the coming to support PN and in particular the students and youths that were at the forefront in the crowd.

Dr Gonzi explained that PN does not have the right to win the election but it must show that it truly deserves to be elected. He spoke about his visit to University earlier this week and said that this week he will be visiting MCAST as well.  He claimed that he was proud of the funds obtained from the EU after numerous negotiations and in difficult times thanks to the credibility that Malta has among other countries.

The change has been brought thanks to PN since being in Government, the change in the economy has brought about more jobs being created and a stronger economy in the country, said Dr Gonzi. He addressed people in the country who are still undecided about whom to vote for and appealed them to make their choice wisely based upon the success of the PN in the last five years.

PN Leader spoke about the way the funds obtained will be used by PN if re-elected; by investing more in education, in the creation of more jobs, on families, in the health sector, in the environment and on better pensions. He addressed the crowd and asked the people to think about whom to trust and look at the track record of the PL and the past declarations that were made that were all proved wrong.

PL has been oblivious to the success that the country has obtained, said Dr Gonzi. He admitted that there are many challenges that the country has to face in the economy but PN will always face these challenges and make the best choices for the good of the country.

PN Lawrence Gonzi spoke about the stipend scheme that PN is proposing among which are the increase of stipends pro-rata according to the COLA and the social contribution accreditation which will start to take place. All is at risk since all that has been obtained and all that can be obtained depends on what happens on Election Day, said PN Leader. He pleaded the people to not risk all and make the right choice.

The latest scandals concerning PL Deputy Leader Toni Abela are showing the true colours of PL, said PN Leader. These are the people that will make up the new Government if PL is elected and this is the change that they are proposing, a change that people do not want, he said.

PN has declared that PN has always been on the road of righteousness and will continue to look after the rights of the people and not safe-guard criminals. PN is the only party that can back up the claims that it is making and he encouraged people to look forward towards the future towards a victory for PN and for all the country. All is possible if we are united as work together as one, concluded PN Lawrence Gonzi.
