PL tried to hide the drug case, whilst the PN has taken the right steps to fight corruption from the beginning, Minister for Justice, Dialogue and the Family Chris Said announced.

The Minister was addressing a press conference at the PN Headquarters in Pieta, when he said Malta must have the right structures in place to properly tackle cases such as the ongoing oil procurement scandal. He categorically denied ever receiving any gifts from George Farrugia.

The Minister stated that the PL attempted to cover up the Intershore Fiduciary Ltd’s involvement in the oil scandal, since the PL’s ex-Financial Administrator, Joe Cordina, was on the company’s board.

Chris Said focused on job creation, adding that the PN's track record speaks for itself. He also mentioned the reduction in income tax which the party has proposed.

Facts clearly show that it is not true that GonziPN took the right steps to fight corruption. After 5 years GonziPN did not pass the Whistleblower act. When a couple of years ago an ex-PN President talked in public about the commissions of the procurement oil by Enemalta. GonziPN did nothing at all. Even after the Opposition in Parliament drew the attention of the Minister involved about the oil commissions corruption. GonziPN did nothing at all.
