PN: PL sees police as political instrument
The Labour Party want to turn the Police Corps into a political instrument, the PN have announced.
This has been made clear over the past few days, where PL Deputy Leader Toni Abela can be heard on recordings speaking about halting a police investigation, the PN argued.
In order to remove attention from this topic, PL Leader Joseph Muscat has chosen to attack the PN on its treatment of the police, the PN accused, adding that over the past five years the PN introduced a system of pay which reflects the amount of work police undertake, including special duty allowances.
In the coming five years, the PN promised to introduce a law which will unionise the police force, whilst stating that the PL’s proposal would see the police members join a PL run union, thereby putting citizens’ security at risk.
