The PN has requested that the Electoral Commission recount the votes in the 8th district.

This was due to a packet of first preference 50 votes of Claudette Buttigieg, being considered as votes for Michael Asciak. This put the PN at a disadvantage for the third electoral seat as Michael Asciak was eliminated and all the votes were lost.

Due to this mistake having been found after the counting had closed, a new count can only be given by court order through the Constitutional Courts. The PN will be taking the necessary steps regarding this process.
