PN - We will forgive Libyan school debt

Loans given to the Libyan school are to be forgiven, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi promised.

The loans come to around €400,000, with a further €300,000 to be given in subsidies if the PN is re-elected.

The Prime Minister was given a tour of the school by Labour MEP candidate Maria Camilleri and Imam Mohammed el Sadi.

Prime Minister Gonzi also stated that he would be in favor with the Libyan government’s plan improve the Ta’ Giorni school and upgrade it to a higher education institution.

The Imam asked the Prime Minister to issue a directive in order to prevent women who wear the hijab from being discriminated against, in addition to asking for help with Mepa permission for expansion projects and for an increase in the number of multi-faith worship areas on the island.
