Possession of voting documents
Administrators of Old People’s Homes and Hospitals have been advised by the Electoral Commission that the voting document belongs to the person to whom it has been issued and whoever is in illegal possession of a voting document which is not his would be committing a crime.
Although no influence should be exercised on the residents/patients of these Homes and Hospitals, Administrators are to ensure that on polling day there is free access to residents/patients who are to vote as well as to those authorized to accompany them to the polling places if the voters themselves ask for this.
