The PL have tried and failed to copy the PN, PN Leader Lawrence Gonzi announced today during a mass meeting in Naxxar.

The vintage nationalists, the PN of Eddie Fenech Adami and the PN who have served the country are right here; “and we are ready to work for you!” Dr Gonzi stated.

“To have a man seeking to be the next Prime Minister hide a case relating to drugs is not acceptable,” Dr Gonzi said. In a PL club which children attend, Dr Muscat took no steps to report drug abuse to the police. Joseph Muscat should be ashamed and he cannot be the next Prime Minister, Dr Gonzi stated. “He didn’t take these steps so as not to dirty his own party”. Malta has never seen so many dirty secrets from a party, he said. Dr Muscat must answer for contractors meeting in secret on the 4th floor, as Anglu Farrugia had said.

Regardless that Toni Abela had approached police to stop them from investigating, the PL Leader did absolutely nothing. Why is this, he asked. “If Toni leaves, then Joseph must leave!” Both are accomplices in hiding drug allegations. He urged voters to remember these cases on March 9, asking the people to give an answer to the PL, that Malta will not be run by these people.

Joseph Muscat has failed before and will need to repeat on March 9, PN Leader Lawrence Gonzi announced.

Dr Gonzi mentioned the European Commission, whose analysis has resulted in Malta having economic success. Muscat can only wish to achieve such a great result, he said, alleging that the only reason Malta achieved this result is because Malta didn’t listen to Joseph Muscat.

Dr Gonzi thanked the youths at MCAST. “I thank those who booed me as well”. The PN will help those who don’t agree with it, promising stipends and the new MCAST campus. He promised that regardless of who students vote for, the PN will help create jobs for students. “This is the main point the PN is trying to bring across. Together everything is possible”.

Dr Gonzi spoke about the safe environment which the party has created. He described the Park he opened this morning in Marsascala, where thousands of people were present. “The area was a dump, but now… go and see for yourselves”.

If elected, the PN will create a new school each year, Dr Gonzi mentioned. A vote for PN is a vote for jobs, he said, adding that those who have precarious jobs will be helped by the Government to find jobs with better conditions. He spoke about the success the PN has had in tourism, adding that the record upon record which have been broken speak for themselves.

The PN Leader described his plan to fight diabetes, whilst keeping up their fight against cancer. He pledged that over the next legislature, Malta will no longer keep having a deficit, reiterating the €1bn funds he brought back with him from the EU.

Victory is near

Victory is near, however there is still alot of work to be done PN Leader stated

There are a number of Maltese who have yet to decide who to vote for, explaining that the PN is the biggest guarantee for Malta’s future. “PN is the natural choice, a choice to strengthen our country and to keep education at the centre of society”.

Dr Gonzi guaranteed the future of Malta, adding that in the past, the PN had brought Malta forward. He mentioned mass meeting which happened in the last election, where the PN had promised to improve the country and today the PN can say that Malta has created jobs, increased tourism and improved the environment. Malta has the highest amount of full-time employed workers in the history of the country, Lawrence Gonzi said, stating that today there is the largest amount of women at work in the country’s history, numbering at over 40,000.

Dr Gonzi mentioned the large increase in pensioners who chose to keep working, also emphasising the increase in total graduates that have emerged from the University of Malta, where 11,000 students are currently studying. He described the students graduating from MCAST, calling the school a major success for the country.

Five years ago the sea around Malta was filthy, but now it is one of the cleanest areas in the Mediterranean. He mentioned the number of residential roads. The PN created Mater Dei Hospital, he said. “It has been a huge success and now we are building another hospital right next to it to build upon that success”.

The Prime Minister spoke about Malta’s role in aiding the fight against Gaddafi. Rather than hiding behind neutrality, Malta took a stand and fought for good “as good will always triumph over evil”.

The PN have watched over the country since the people aired their confidence in the party, and this has paid off, Dr Gonzi mentioned. “We now have a successful country and on March 9, the choice will be in your hands”.

Through the storm Malta has persevered

Through the economic storm, the PN has persevered, PN Deputy Leader Simon Busuttil announced.

Malta has the second largest economic growth in Europe he said, adding that whilst the economic tempest ravages Europe, Malta has remained steadfast and this is because Malta Is run by a capable Government. He mentioned the possibility of Malta making an economic U-turn if it doesn’t have a Government capable of leading. The PL never spoke about jobs he said, as this would be good advertising for the PN.

The PN went directly to the police once the oil procurement scandal came to light, Dr Busuttil said, whilst the PL tried to hide the scandal. The PN told the police to move forward with investigations, he said. “The law is there to be adhered to by everyone, he said, describing this as a major difference between the two parties.

The PL club drug case in Hal Safi was mentioned, and Dr Busuttil stated that it was close to a school. Instead of going to the police, Dr Muscat swept the scandal under the carpet. “This, when he said he wants to clean up the country!” Dr Muscat is not ready to carry political responsibility. He alleged that where kids could have fallen prey to drugs, the PL Leader chose not to take action. The PN fights against corruption, and the past weeks have shown this, Dr Busuttil said, adding that if the PL act this way when in opposition, then it will get worse when they are in Government.

Where the PN has made mistakes, the PN has admitted, Simon Busuttil announced adding that steps were taken to fix these mistakes. “We will not be able to fix everything by the elections, however we promise to keep working to understand where mistakes have been made and fix these problems”. The PN will continue to seek out justice and will continue to listen to people and act on their needs, he said.

Joining the EU opened up many doors for the Maltese Youth, Dr Busuttil stated, adding that this was thanks to the PN. He appealed to the people of Malta and Gozo to look at the right future for Malta. “don’t change a winning horse”.

The PN has a clear direction and vision, adding that “with us you know where you are and you know where you are going”. Putting out trust in those who want to change direction without knowing where to take the country would be a mistake, he alleged.

The PN Deputy Leader spoke about the PN success in handling the Libyan crisis and job creation. He mentioned the success Malta has had in the EU and said that Malta will run the EU in this legislature and all eyes will be on the nation.

Dr Busuttil addressed the students and first time voters, telling them that Malta’s destiny is in their hands. “A destiny which not only covers one year, but five”. He expressed his happiness with the students. When he was elected to the post of Deputy Leader, he was sure that the PN can win the elections, he said, adding that his feelings regarding this point are stronger than ever.

He explained that the PN will win because the PN has brought positive results for jobs, education and healthcare, expressing his resolve on the solid financial situation of Malta. The Maltese students celebrate in the streets, he said, whilst students abroad protest in the streets.

The elections are just two weeks away and both parties are heading into the final stretch. This was the fourth PN mass meeting of the campaign.

Over recent weeks, scandals surrounding the oil procurement case have been constantly unfolding as well as revelations made regarding the alleged drugs in the Hal Safi PL club.
