Youths are at the heart of Malta - Joseph Muscat
Joseph Muscat was addressing a youth rally in the Corradino Sports Complex in Paola, where he emphasised that the youth are at the heart of Malta's future.
The rally saw thousands of youths jumping to the beat of trance and electronic music as the dj played some of the latest hits by some of the world’s hottest djs. Joseph 2013 and We’re All In placards flew high as the Labour supporters showed up filled up the complex.
The PL Leader stated that the Labour movement is the natural home for the Maltese youth. The goal of the PL is to throw away the old view of politics and unify the country, he said. The country will have a Government which will turn Malta into a true European country, he promised. "Malta will no longer be called insignificant".
Dr Muscat spoke about work, stating that there are numerous students who do not have work, as opposed to the PN's view that all students find jobs. The PL will create jobs for students as well as youths who chose not to continue education, he addressed. He spoke about the PL proposals regarding education, mentioning the stipend policy which would give students a second chance to pass by continuing to give them the stipend.
Dr Muscat thanked the students of MCAST, University, Junior College and the higher secondary emphasising that they are at the heart of the country. Joseph Muscat urged those who will be voting for Labour for the first time to help write the next chapter in Malta’s future, together.
The PL movement does not see people divided, as having red or blue faces, but rather as one people, Joseph Muscat concluded.
