A wealthy Indian man has commissioned and bought a shirt completely made of gold, the Daily Mail reported.

Money-lender Datta Phuge, aged 32 from Pimpri-Chinchwad, India, had the £14,000 shirt made. It took 15 goldsmiths two weeks working for 16 hours a day to create and weave the material. Mr. Phuge explained that he hoped the shirt would attract a female companion.

"I know I am not the best looking man in the world but surely no woman could fail to be dazzled by this shirt?" he explained. "It will be an embellishment to my reputation as the ‘Gold man of Pimpri'," Mr Phuge said.
