These days we’re often so busy dealing with life that we forget about living it.

The ‘Havana Club Gap Year’ is proposing a chance to go for a spontaneous, genuine life, that is not driven by the pursuit of the next pay cheque, turning into reality the dream of a life free from the daily stress of studying or work, meeting friends in reality not virtually, a life like the people of Havana.

Havana Club is offering one person a journey to 12 different countries in 12 months. One lucky winner will spend a year living life the Havana way; free from the daily routine and a culture driven by technology.

Havana Club is searching for one inquisitive, sociable and open-minded person who will start the journey in Havana, learning the skills of a Cuban Cantinero and discovering the unique, genuine and authentic spirit of Havana.  They will then travel to Barcelona to live with a family during the Festa Major de Grazia, tour with a jazz band across Canada, immerse themselves in the nightlife and music scene in Tokyo with a local DJ, to immersing in the Berlin art scene, the winner will discover the spirit of each place they visit through the eyes of genuine locals.

Participants can enter the competition by logging on to https://www.facebook.com/HavanaClubRum.mt and simply upload a short video explaining what 3 things they would leave at home during the Gap Year and what 3 things they would pack in their bag if they won. The videos will be uploaded to the local Facebook page and voted for by their friends and the general public. The 5 videos with the highest number of votes at the end of the entry phase will be interviewed by Havana Club representatives to determine the winner from each participating country. Each country will then send a local winner on an all-expenses paid trip to Havana for 5 days.

In Havana the Maltese participant will join all other international winners who will be tasked with creating a short film that captures the spirit of the city. The videos will be voted on by a panel of judges and the overall winner of the Havana Club Gap Year will be selected
