Baden Powell Scouts Malta at Eurocamp 2014, Rome

Baden Powell Scouts Malta contingent travelled to Rome in Italy on the 31st July 2014 to join 2000 scouts from all over Europe who met at B.P. Park situated in Bassano Romano. Together with representations of traditional scouting organisations and federations from all over Europe, there were also guests from Africa, Asia , South and North America.

The World Federation for Independent Scouts (WFIS) Eurocamp 2014 kicked off with the opening ceremony on Saturday, 2nd August, at 19.00hrs, led by WFIS World President Klaus Teageder and Eurocamp 2014 Camp Chief, Ruggiero Papale (Federscouts) . Patrol Leader Marcus Xerri and Daniel Vella formed the colour party for Malta National Flag.

The Maltese Contingent was made up of five persons. Daniel Vella (Mgarr B-P Sea Scouts), Zak Bridge Shone (Bahrija B-P Scouts), Andre' Cauchi & Marcus Xerri (Patrol Leader) (Mtarfa B-P Scouts) and George Mangion (President and International Commissioner).

The Maltese contingent returned back to the Island on Saturday, 9th August, 2014 to recount the wonderful and unforgettable experience of International Traditional Scouting within the fraternity of the Scout Movement
