The entire British Pathé Archive is now on YouTube. The UK newsreel archive company has uploaded its entire 100-year collection which totals to 85,000 newsreels in high resolution, viewable on YouTube.

British Pathé tweeted earlier this week, saying “We're pleased to announce the uploading of 85,000 films to YouTube. View and share.” You can check out all the videos on their YouTube Channel here.

The films which equate to 3,500 hours of filmed history, spans 1896 to 1976 and compromises from fashion to warfare and sport to travel. With their unique combination of information and entertainment, British Pathé's documentaries, newsreels, serials and films changed the way the world saw itself forever.

Personalities captured in the newsreels include Princess Diana, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Fidel Castro, John Lennon, Salvador Dali, Mother Teresa, Muhammad Ali and Charlie Chaplin. The YouTube channel, which is being managed by German online-media company Mediakraft, includes some of the public's favourite clips, rare and amusing pieces to share and footage related to big days throughout the year.
