Beach weddings are not uncommon, but one couple decided to take the plunge and get married under the sea. Off the shore of Mexico, 41-year-old Alberto dal Lago and 43-year-old Karla Yu got married in front of an audience of 200 qualified scuba divers. They said that their aim was to raise awareness about the plight of sharks. I wonder how much they splashed out on this?

Love can literally take you sky-high sometimes! 25-year-olds, Sandra Eens and Jeroen Kippers, paid around €8,700 to be the first people to get married up in mid-air, and to then bungee jump off a specially constructed platform. That is exactly what nine couples did in Jamaica, after winning an all-expenses-paid nude wedding by Hedonism II. The ceremony was conducted under the observant eye of a film crew which was shooting a documentary about the occurrence. Back to basics, clearly.
