Craziest wedding ever?
The biggest wedding dress, the freshest flowers, the poshest venue and a double order on the alcohol: every couple wants their wedding day to be perfect, and it’s no surprise that so much money is spent and so many plans are made to make that special day extra-memorable. Some couples, however, go the extra mile to make theirs unique or crazy! We meet a few…
Beach weddings are not uncommon, but one couple decided to take the plunge and get married under the sea. Off the shore of Mexico, 41-year-old Alberto dal Lago and 43-year-old Karla Yu got married in front of an audience of 200 qualified scuba divers. They said that their aim was to raise awareness about the plight of sharks. I wonder how much they splashed out on this?
Love can literally take you sky-high sometimes! 25-year-olds, Sandra Eens and Jeroen Kippers, paid around €8,700 to be the first people to get married up in mid-air, and to then bungee jump off a specially constructed platform. This service, offered by Belgian company Marriage in the Sky, professes to offer the most exclusive experiences for their customers. Definitely not one for those who suffer from vertigo.
We all love a Big Mac but two Hong Kongers who fell in love over a Big Mac, decided to proclaim their love in the local McDonald’s branch. At just under €200 to have your McWedding held at a McDonalds, a price tag which allows you up to a 100 guests, no wonder it’s the latest craze taking over some Asian states! McMarvellous!
Screw wedding gowns, screw feeling like a princess for the day, in fact, screw anything and everything that’s traditional about a wedding! Let’s just get married with eight other couples - NAKED! That is exactly what nine couples did in Jamaica, after winning an all-expenses-paid nude wedding by Hedonism II. The ceremony was conducted under the observant eye of a film crew which was shooting a documentary about the occurrence. Back to basics, clearly.
We at DI-VE have no idea who this couple is, or the story behind this ceremony, but we know one thing for sure: this must have been extremely awkward for their guests. The bride’s father looks clearly distressed but, on the bright side, no one had to worry about visible panty lines on the day!
