Eastercourse 2014 in Birmingham- Created by You
6 ZAK members participated in Eastercourse 2014 which was held during the Easter holidays in Birmingham by the European Fellowship of Christian Youth. The European Fellowship is a network of Christian Youth Organisations in Europe. It organises or facilitates courses, camps and exchanges. The theme of this year’s Eastercourse was: ‘Created by you’. Over 30 youths were involved in this course from 7 European countries including Hungary, Romania, UK, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland.
The program included sessions on intercultural learning which were very informative and help to increase appreciation of the diversity of different cultures. Various workshops dealing with leadership, communication and ‘Food for Thought’ were organized throughout the week. These were very interesting, their aim was to get you thinking about yourself, your values and how to relate to others.
We had ‘Let’s Talk’ sessions were we discussed our thoughts, feelings and our relationship with God. This was one of the things I enjoyed the most as I believe it is appropriate especially during Easter time to give some thought to our Creator. The Stations of The Cross were prepared for us on Good Friday and a day of silence helped us reflect on the death of Our Saviour.
We also had a session ‘Organisations in Focus’ which in my opinion was one of the best. We discussed challenges in our organization and possible solutions. It helped us all, as we feel that the problems in our organization are just obstacles we can overcome, rather than something which brings everyone to a halt.
Overall, I am extremely thankful for all the hard work the planning team as well as the participants took to ensure a wonderful experience for all of us.
