Song for Europe Finalists Announced
The Semi-Finals of the Malta Song for Europe took place last night.
This much-followed spectacle featured a few relative newcomers and some veterans. 16 finalists were selected through tele-voting. Whoever wins will be doing so for the first time, as no former winners managed to make it through to the semi-finals. Three songs composed by Boris Cezek and Dean Muscat, namely Perfect Day, Tomorrow and Us Against The World managed to make it to the finals. Paul Giordimaina and Fleur Balzan managed two songs with In Control and My Stranger Love. The finalists were chosen through public tele-voting and a jury vote.
The finals feature an interesting mix of ballads, catchy pop and dance and also rock. Yesterday’s event was hosted by Elaine Saliba, Gordon Bonello and Rodrick Gauci. Tonight’s event will feature once more on TVM, however there will be an alternative presentation laden with a few humouristic remarks about this festival at the same time on TVM 2.
