Art Competition Winners Announced        

9-year-old Julia Cappitta from Madliena who attends Chiswick House School, San Gwann, is the winner of the 2nd Edition of the Children’s Painting/Drawing Competition entitled ‘Tunisia through the Eyes of a Child’.

This competition was organised by airlines TunisAir Express, in collaboration with Amphora Travel and JAC Travel. Second prize was won by 10-year-old Alexandra Savona from Sliema, who attends St. Martin’s College, Swatar. Each of the two winners, accompanied by an adult, was awarded free flights plus free accommodation in one of the El Mouradi chain of Hotels for 7 and 4 days respectively in Tunisia as their winning prize. 

Over eighty entries were submitted for the competition which was open for children from 5 to 11 years of age. The competition was meant to get the best perspective of Tunisia, its nation, traditions and modern aspects as perceived in a child’s mind through the art medium – Tunisia through the Eyes of a Child.

H.E. Ms. Souad Gueblaoui, Ambassador of Tunisia in Malta, under whose patronage the competition was held, presented the prizes and besides congratulating the winners for their talents extended her appreciation to all those children that participated. She also thanked parents and teachers for their encouragement and collaboration which was instrumental in attaining a well patronised and high level competition.

The adjudicating panel was made up of a representative from each of the two sponsors, namely Ms. Yvonne Ellul, Managing Director of Amphora Travel and Mr. Joe Caruana General Manager of JAC Travel, together with Wilfred Sultana PR Consultant and Med Laamouz, General Manager TunisAir Express (Malta Branch).
