Bad weather and thundery showers are expected to hit Malta at around midday today the Malta Airport MetOffice has warned.

In a statement the MetOffice said that the storm is due to a weather system developing to the south west of Malta and which is moving very slowly.

In a similar warning the Civil Protection Department appealed to the public to avoid thos places that are prone to flooding.
