€29,676 spent on inauguration of steel bridge in Valletta
The ceremony held to inaugurate the bridge that links Fort St Elmo to one of the arms of the Grand Harbour breakwater in Valletta cost €29,676.20.
€354 were spent on filming footage of the bridge for press distribution; €27,078 went towards the audiovisual effects and setup for the inauguration ceremony; €224.20 was the cost of artwork for the e-invite; €1,770 were paid for a 15-minute of video production about the building of the bridge and its history and €250 were used to make a photographic CD of the launch.
Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Communication Austin Gatt disclosed this information in response a Parliamentary Question posed by Labour Deputy Gino Cauchi.
The steel bridge was fabricated in Spain and represented an investment of around €2.8 million by Transport Malta.
