€62,000 fuel bill in 2 months
The fuel bill for the Health Ministry totalled €61,836.55 in April and May 2013 according to the information provided by the Minister for Health in reply to a question laid by Shadow Health Minister, Joseph Cassar.
The department which used most fuel was the Finance and Administration department with a bill of €19,327.85. This department also comprises the directorate for Human Resources, non-Emergency ambulance and light cars station at Gwardamangia.
Mater Dei Hospital racked up a fuel bill totalling €14,816.53 in the two months under review. Mount Carmel Hospital used €4,814.83 worth of fuel, the Superintendence for Public Health €4,189.94 and the Ministry for Health €2,529.88.
The Ministry for Health uses 11 different petrol stations for re-fuelling of its vehicles.
