The Ministry for Gozo invested €70,000 into the Footsteps Childcare Centre in Gharb, which caters for children under three years of age.

The funds were invested through the EcoGozo scheme for Local Councils, Minister For Gozo Giovanna Debono announced whilst inaugurating the Centre this afternoon. The services undertaken in this facility are of National Standards, the Minister said, adding that the centre aims to teach children through games, crafts and other activities.

The Minister emphasised that the Ministry for Gozo is working in order to have a child development centre built in Gozo, by the General Hospital. She described a number of other projects which have received €100,000 in financial assistance in Gharb through EcoGozo. Giovanna Debono made particular reference to the Gharb Rangers FC and the Musical Group ‘Viżitazzjoni’ who benefitted from €12,000 which saw energy saving lights installed.

The Footsteps centre opens between Monday to Friday from 07:30h to 15:00h, and on Saturdays as needed. The centre accommodates thirty children.
