3000 visit Hague International Day fair
The International City of Peace and Justice could be experienced yesterday, September 23, as the general public could visit international organisations and embassies in The Hague, both on site and through stands at a lively fair.
This event, organised by the Municipality of The Hague, aimed at building a bridge between the various international organisations and embassies based in this Dutch city, and the locals.
The Embassy of Malta participated in this event with the setting up of a stand promoting the islands as well as our culinary treasures.
Around 3000 locals visited the fair, attended the side events organised by the United Nations as well as participated in the site visits.
The fair was opened by the Deputy Mayor of The Hague, Marjolein de Jong, who then visited the stands of the twenty-one participating Embassies and those of the twenty-nine organisations.
Throughout the day, hundreds of visitors had the opportunity to ask questions about Malta, collect informative brochures and gifts provided by the Malta Tourism Authority, taste delicacies from Gozo, learn how to make and taste traditional bankunċini, and enjoy Maltese wine and the now well-known Kinnie.
