32,760 illegal tins of shoe polish to be destroyed
32,760 tins of shoe polish which were brought to Malta illegally are to be destroyed.
This decision was taken after a court established a breach of intellectual property rights.
This product with the name ‘Kime’ arrived in Malta in 2012, where the packaging was the same as that of the ‘Kiwi’ product.
Therefore, the owners of ‘Kiwi’, S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. requested for the destruction of these tins.
The court upheld this plea, and ordered the destruction of the tins within 90 days.
