3,517 women killed in Syria
Thy Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) have released statistics showing that 3,517 women and girls have been killed in the country since the beginning of the revolution, on March 15, 2011
According to the SNHR, 1079 of these victims were girls and the rest were mature women.
The records show that around 2200 have died from shelling and close to 1700 were killed by artillery and mortar fire.
What is, perhaps, the most disturbing piece of information revealed, is that 254 women were summarily executed.
The SNHR stated that the women of Syria have become victims of killings, arrests, terrorism, threats, sexism, and severe torture.
