AD objects to Forum Hotel development

Article By: news

Objections for the proposed development of the former Forum Hotel has been objected to by Alternattiva Demokratika based on the fact that the development is of ‘massive proportions’.

AD International Secretary Arnold Cassola and AD Deputy Chairperson Carmel Cacopardo have submitted the party’s objections to Mepa arguing that such an enormous project will generate a large amount of traffic, which will even be compounded through the building of the multilevel car-parking area which is planned as part of the project. Consequently there will be a significant reduction in air quality in the area and this will be detrimental to the health of residents of Swieqi.

MEPA application PA7245/05 lists the development of the former Forum Hotel into a commercial centre, flats, villas, car parks and a supermarket.
