Aldo Moro down to three lanes
The National Flood Relief Project is entering a phase which will be affecting part of Triq Aldo Moro Marsa. One lane on each side of the northbound and southbound carriageway of Triq Aldo Moro will be closed to vehicular traffic and the carriageway will be reduced from four lanes to three lanes on each side.
On October 4, 2013, works will start in the evening on the construction of four large underground culverts. The bus lanes in Aldo Moro Street will be suspended during the course of the works.
Transport Malta reminds motorists heading towards Valletta and Floriana from Cottonera, Kalkara, Xghajra, Zabbar, Fgura and Paola that between 06:00h and 20:00h they can proceed to Kordin Industrial Estate to Triq il-Bacir to Dock 7 to Triq Belt il-Hazna.
Motorists proceeding towards Cottonera, Kalkara, Xghajra, Zabbar, Fgura and Paola from Valletta and Floriana are advised to proceed to Triq Belt il-Hazna and follow the signs to Dock 7 and proceed towards Triq il-Bacir.
Heavy goods vehicles are not permitted to commute through Dock 7 route.
Traffic proceeding towards Marsascala, Zejtun, Marsaxlokk, Birzebbugia, Ghaxaq, Gudja, Kirkop, Safi, Zurrieq, Luqa, Birzebbugia, Tarxien and all heavy goods vehicles are advised to proceed towards Triq Salib tal-Marsa (Marsa Church) to Triq Aldo Moro.
The Dock 7 alternative route will be open during weekdays from 06:00h to 20:00h and on October 5, 2013, to support the Notte Bianca event in the evening.
